School of Dentistry
Established in 1986 with the first intake of 40 students, and at the present offers most dental specialties to undergraduate and post graduate students. The offered degree by the completion of undergraduate dentistry course (usually around six years) is Doctorate in Dentistry (DDS), although that must not be confused with PhD.
The dental school offers various other post graduate dentistry programs including Endodontics, Prosthodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontics, Pedodontics, Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Oral Pathology, and Restorative Dentistry and master’s and associate degrees in Dental Prosthetic Construction.
Our numbers of graduates are in excess of 4000 with DDS, and in excess of 1000 with postgraduate qualifications. The school is offering dental nursing courses as well as oral hygienist with approved qualifications by our regulatory bodies.
Total number of students in a yearly basis is around 1300 covering our DDS students and postgraduate places. The great mentoring and training system is in placed and students will benefit from this robust organizational education
